Plant-Based Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Blackbird Foods Recipe

Makes 2 Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Baguette Style Bread Loaf

  • 1 Box (8oz) of Blackbird Original Seitan

  • ½ cup Hot Sauce

  • 4 Tbsp Vegan Butter

  • 1 tsp Onion Powder

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper

  • ¼ cup Vegan Mayonnaise 

  • ¼ cup Vegan Cream Cheese

  • 4 Tbsp Lemon Juice 

  • 2 Tbsp Herbs (Chives, Green Onion, Dill, Parsley) 

  • 2 cloves of Garlic, Minced 

  • Salt and Pepper to taste 

  • 1 Jalapeño, Thinly Sliced

  • 1 Block of Vegan Feta

METHOD

  1. Make Vegan Ranch by mixing together Mayonnaise, Cream Cheese, Lemon Juice, Herbs (reserve 1 tsp), Garlic, Salt and Pepper  

  2. Slice Jalapeños and crumble Feta. Set aside 

  3. In a small sauce pot combine Butter, Hot Sauce, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, and Cayenne Pepper 

  4. In a pan, sauté seitan in oil. Add to Buffalo Sauce, stir to combine 

  5. Slice Baguette in half and toast. Add Seitan, top with Ranch, Feta, Jalapeño and additional Herbs. Serve immediately
